Media News Group has selected Marketing G2, a leader in helping subscription-based companies develop and deploy effective customer relationship management solutions, to implement Subscriber Concierge across their newspaper chain. To date, nearly 15 daily newspapers in California have gone live and the roll out will continue in to 2011. Nearly two million readers of newspapers such as the Los Angeles Daily News, Eureka Times-Standard, and The San Bernardino Sun now have access to MG2's Subscriber Concierge to manage their account online. Subscribers have an array of options that include vacation holds, report delivery issues, access the electronic edition, subscribe to the print or electronic paper and manage payments--all automated processes that build customer retention, increase revenues, and save time and costs for the newspaper.
Subscriber Concierge is supported by Open Intelligence, a marketing database that organizes complex data and makes it easier for newspapers to manage customer relationships. This technology allowed Marketing G2 and Media News Group to roll out a series of e-mail best practices to further engage the customer and to increase product usage and ultimately retention.
Subscriber Concierge is developed with each individual newspaper's circulation system in mind. At the Los Angeles News Group (LANG), Subscriber Concierge was implemented with a unique option that allows customers to select the electronic edition while they are on vacation. Almost 50% of vacation holds are made using this option which increases revenue for the LANG newspapers.
Dave Williams, Vice President of Circulation for LANG said, "Our subscribers are valuable assets, so we need to continue to invest in ways to improve customer service. The Subscriber Concierge platform allows us to offer more self-service options, easier access to our digital edition, and new ways to communicate with our customers. We are particularly impressed with the Marketing G2 team. They bring fresh ideas to the table that help us engage our customers."
"Media News Group is very forward thinking. They recognize the need to have a single customer engagement application across the enterprise that positions them to easily support paid subscribers on emerging content platforms," said Patrick Glennon, Marketing G2's founder. "Instead of having to develop and integrate with various operating systems to introduce new paid content platforms, they can now just communicate with Subscriber Concierge."
Subscriber Concierge is servicing millions of subscribers across newspapers around the country. To learn more about Marketing G2 and the products offered, visit http://www.marketingg2.com/products/subscriber_concierge/.
